Imtiaz Ali gave a surprising reason for narrowly escaping jail during the film Jab We Met, said- 'I got a court order…'

Veteran director of the Bollywood industry Imtiaz Ali, who has directed several films. Recently, has disclosed an experience during the movie 'Jab We Met' with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor. For this film, there was a legal issue, which could have caused the director even imprisonment. 

Director Imtiaz Ali has mentioned a scene of Ratlam city shown in the film. Due to this scene, some disputes arose among the local people. The director recently participated in an interview with Hollywood reporter and film critic Anupama Chopra. In the conversation there, he said that for the first time he got a summons from the court and a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against him. It was alleged that the film has damaged the reputation of the city, which is known for local dishes like chivda and fafda. The complaint claimed that the director has misrepresented Ratlam by calling it a red-light district, which has angered the community.

In the conversation further, the director said, 'I was shooting in Calcutta, then Dinesh Vijan came running to me and said, 'Sir, there is a non-bailable arrest warrant and if they come to know that you are here, they will come and arrest you.' I said, 'Yaar, it was in the newspapers yesterday that we are shooting here.' After this, filmmaker Dinesh Vijan said that if the director gets arrested, he will suffer a loss. Apart from this, director Imtiaz said that his costume designer responded that she will feed him in jail.

In 2007, the film 'Jab We Met' was released under the direction of Imtiaz Ali. It was a romantic comedy film. Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor were in the lead roles. This film proved to be a hit at the box office.
