Bobby Simha's driver arrested for drunk driving, car hits six vehicles
Bobby Simha: Bobby Simha's driver Pushparaj has been arrested by Chennai Police for injuring four people and hitting six vehicles. The actor was not in the car. Investigation is underway.
In a road accident on Friday evening (April 18), National Award-winning Telugu actor Bobby Simha's vehicle collided with a number of vehicles near Alandur, Chennai, leaving three people injured. The accident happened when the car driven by Bobby's chauffeur Pushparaj was heading to Chennai Airport from Ekkaduthangal.
According to Chennai Traffic Police, the accident occurred when the car was descending from the Kathipara flyover near Alandur Metro station. According to media reports, the speeding car lost control and hit three motorcycles, two autorickshaws and another car. Bobby Simha was not present in the car at the time of the accident.
Eyewitnesses said emergency response teams rushed to the spot and rushed the three injured motorcyclists to a nearby hospital. None of them suffered serious injuries. Meanwhile, the actor's driver Pushparaj has been arrested for negligent and drunk driving. A case has been registered against him under charges of rash driving, drunk driving, and negligently causing hurt. The police are also investigating if the car had any other violations, including improper documentation or lack of valid insurance related to the car.
Bobby Simha has not yet reacted to the incident. He gained national recognition for his role in Jigarthanda (2014) and won the National Award for Best Supporting Actor. On the work front, the actor was last seen in Kamal Haasan's film Indian 2, where he played CBI officer Pramod Krishnaswamy. Andhra Pradesh-born Simha made his mark in the Tamil film industry by starring in Pizza, Soodhu Kavvum, Neram, Bangalore Natakkal and Thiruttu Payale 2. He has also appeared in several Telugu and Malayalam films.
