However, this will not be for the second time in India, but for the second time in Japan. The film's production team recently announced on social media that Ranbir Kapoor's film will be released in Japan in the month of February 2026.
A poster for “Animal” shared by a production company named Bhadrakali Pictures, who is a producer of “Animal,” on their Instagram page, states, “The most discussed, the most debated, the most unforgettable experience. And now, coming to Japan! Animal arrives in theaters across Japan on February 13, 2026.”
The film "Animal" was initially released in December 2023. It was a major box office hit, grossing ₹553 crore in India and ₹915 crore worldwide. It is one of the highest-grossing films ever in India. It is expected to enter the ₹1000 crore club after its release in Japan.
"Animal" stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Tripti Dimri. The film was controversial for its excessive violence and misogynistic portrayal. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga defended the film, saying it was all part of creative freedom.
